Hi everyone,

Welcome back to a new year at DVE Aquatic Club — we hope you’ve all had a great break and are feeling refreshed as an exciting year begins. I know some of us have been at it for a while already 🙂

As we fall into routine, I’d love to remind everyone how important a warm welcome is to our club culture. If you see a new face poolside, please say hello, offer a smile, and ask if they need a hand. A friendly word or a quick tip can make all the difference, especially for families who are new to the club.

One thing I do notice regularly at training and club nights is that the kids are actually very good at helping each other out — reminding someone where to line up, encouraging each other through sets, or quietly checking in when someone’s had a tough session. It’s not a big show of it, just small, everyday stuff — but it makes a difference.

If you’ve been around for a while, you might remember how much there was to learn at the beginning — things like:

* Where to find training schedules and enter into meets
* How to order uniforms
* Who to ask when you’re not quite sure

Any tips, shortcuts or “things you wish you’d known earlier” are always worth sharing and help reinforce DVE Aquatic as a club that truly welcomes and supports its members.

And a huge shout out to acknowledge and thank our VOLUNTEERS. DVE Aquatic is a not-for-profit, family and volunteer-run club, and events, competitions and day-to-day operations simply wouldn’t happen without parents generously giving their time. We’re all volunteers, all parents, and all here because we want what’s best for our kids.

Volunteering is also a great way to meet other families, get to know the club better, and feel connected to what your children are part of. As the year unfolds, there will be opportunities to help out at events across all disciplines — every contribution, big or small, is genuinely appreciated.

Thank you all for being part of our club community. We’re looking forward to another fantastic year of water sports, teamwork, friendships, and seeing our kids work towards (and achieve!) their goals.
